fast or slow weapon (this time with full words)

It will all depend on your spec and your playstyle.
Your question entails multiple answers. "is a faster range weapon or a slower best?"
Let's take into consideration how you're spec'd. If you are a BM spec, you are pumping out arrows a lot faster then an MM spec. As such you would want a faster bow to help with your flurry of arrows being hurled at the enemy, allowing you to crit more often, and in turn give you more dps at a much faster pace.
For BM Spec I would suggest the Grand Marshall's Bullseye at 1.80 Speed. Why? Because with a BM spec that will be greatly reduced, and you will be pumping out arrows very very quickly. It's nice for pvp to be able to interrupt any caster with your arrows alone, not to mention your pet will be constantly on them. There's no way they can cast anything but an instant cast spell out.
Now for MM spec (what I currently am), I would highly recommend a slower more damaging bow. I say "more damaging" only in the displayed damage of the bow. I currently still use my Rhok, I love it, has great high-end damage. I crit for a lot more on the high-end with this bow, then I ever would with a faster bow that had lower high-end damage. But I do not fire as often. I personally like the slower bows, because watching my arrows deplete at a rapid rate does not suit me ;) With my current gear and spec, I get around 202.5 DPS. It's not the best I know, but it's pretty decent considering my gear (I have 1 piece of Tier 2 and it's only the helm). I have no tier 1, and the rest of my gear consists of AQ/ZG/PVP gear. I haven't invested the time into getting the newer pvp gear cause I'm just lazy =P
So to answer your question, if you want to be pumping out arrows at 1 a second (well a little slower but not by much), go with the Grand Marshall's Bullseye and BM spec. If you want your crits to pack a punch and do more damage on your normal shots, go with MM spec and the Grand Marshal's Repeater.
I'm very biased as I went the pvp route. I like being able to 2 or 3 shot mages. However I've seen BM spec'd take them out just as fast because they're pumping constant arrows into them and the caster can't cast anything but instant spells.
BM = Machine Gun. MM = Rocket Launcher. Both are going to get the job done, and in the same amount of time, it just depends on how many arrows you're going to spend doing it ;)

As for your question, I seem to recall that the xbow was the better GM weapon? I'm only Lv20 though so I can't provide much experience.
It was discussed not too long ago though, maybe there's some useful information over there: - FFXI
Ranawaran - WoWhmmm... sorry for my last post, i can see your point, the text in it looks like sht.
back to my question: is a faster range weapon (grand marshal's bullseye, 1,80 speed) or a slower (grand marshal's repeater, 2,90 speed) best? or doing most total dps? after the new patch aim shot is reseting autoshot so its not that good anymore so the high damage from a slow weapon is not that useful anymore. or am i wrong? i dont know. and improved aspect of the hawk and concussive barrage is proccing from autoshot and with a slow weapon you dount use that alot. please help me out, i dont wanna spend my honor on the weapon...
