Subscribe to the BlogWell, Tallstriders have (in my opinion) one of the most import skills a pet can have, and that's Dash, so it will at least be fast to the monster- especially since the chase speed normalization. Plus, Mazzranache is PINK. You can't beat that.
The downside to it, however, is the lack of offensive bonuses, and the fact that it only eats fruit, cheese and fungus- all of which can be hard to find until you hit high enough level to get into felwood, where you can get unlimited amounts of fruit.
But even though it has no extra armor, and no extra offense, the +5 HP will be very nice. I say, if you like the look of it, and you're willing to keep up with the limited food, go for it!-Ayrianna 80 Nightelf Hunter - Queen of Typos

Red Wings: 25 - 19 - 9I know more than one person who will stand by their pink tallstriders until the day or minute they die. The thing about tallstriders is they get +5 hp bonus but they get no extra armor or damage. Granted this is not a terrible thing but i like raptors because they lose 5hp but gain 3 armor and 10 DPS.(Not to mention my takk the leaper is awesome looking.)
All pets are decent/good exept the caster ones. They become so much weaker than their standard strength cousins that by level 70 a MM hunter's pet will beat a BM hunter's pet. I can personally attest to this fact as I witnessed it yesterday between my friend and a guildie. Needles to say I laughed.
Try going to Petopia and make your own pet descision though because nobody can choose a pet for you =-).

I rolled hunter this morning to have an alt that is easy to level and fun. After readin things here and looking info up on petopia I thought Mazzranache would be a crazy and funny pet to have leveled to 70.
My question is do tallstriders make good pets in general? Like to they hold aggro well with just bite and growl, do decent dmg ect? Or should I not fight it and use a boar/cat/bat?
